Youtube downloader?

Can anyone recommend a (free) program that can download Youtube videos to your computer?  I got a buddy that keeps burning up his data because he repeatedly watches Youtube videos over and over and over.  (Yes, he's not that bright.)  At any rate, he needs something that is safe and won't mess up his computer. -- And no, this isn't for me.  I'm just sick of hearing my friend whine about this stupid shit.

There is a Chrome extension that will let you download any embedded videos by hovering the mouse over them.

More Tools -> Extensions, scroll to the bottom and click "Get More Extensions"

Search for Youtube Downloader, a bunch of them should show up.
